About NINOFF

Making charitable money easier to follow, inspect and understand.

NINOFF is an independent transparency project exploring how rigorous financial information can become useful and understandable to ordinary donors.

Why NINOFF exists

Visibility usually ends after a donation.

After somebody donates to a charity, they may later see annual accounts, impact reports, broad expenditure percentages or fundraising stories. Those can all be legitimate, but they rarely let a donor inspect how money entrusted to the organisation was actually accounted for.

NINOFF is exploring a different approach: make charitable money easier to follow, inspect and understand.

It is not intended to replace charity accounting or fundraising systems. It would sit between existing financial records and a public transparency experience, translating rigorous information into something donors can navigate.

The name

NINOFF

Network for Integrity in Open Funds

Every pound accounted for.

The ambition is that money represented by NINOFF should always remain explainable: accounted for through eligible expenditure, legitimately transferred or adjusted, refunded, or still held.

This describes an accounting trail. It does not mean following identifiable physical banknotes.

Who is behind NINOFF

Ben Summerhayes

Founder

Ben Summerhayes is a UK technology leader with a background spanning technology, public service and operational leadership. He currently works in technology leadership and has spent much of his career building and managing digital systems, teams and services.

NINOFF grew from a simple question: if people entrust money to an organisation, why should it be so difficult to understand what happened to it afterwards?

Transparency should not be a capability reserved for the largest organisations. Better transparency could give smaller charities a way to demonstrate their integrity and compete on trust rather than marketing budget.

Where NINOFF is today

Validation is the work.

NINOFF is currently an early-stage independent project. The live site contains a working demonstrator using example data, along with donor and charity surveys.

The immediate aim is not to scale the platform or sell software. It is to find out whether donors genuinely value this level of transparency and whether charities would realistically be willing and able to provide it.

Development is deliberately paused while that evidence is gathered.

NINOFF began taking its current form in 2026.

Independence and trust

Clear about the limits.

NINOFF is not currently an auditor, regulator, charity or fundraising platform.

The project is exploring how financial records can be reconciled and presented transparently without claiming a higher level of assurance than the underlying evidence supports.

The prototype terms and privacy information explain those boundaries in more detail.
